GENERAL
INFORMATION FOR ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
-
The images used
in these
instructions were created by coping pages from Windows XP and IE 6.0 + 7.0, but other
Windows programs should be very similar.
-
You may wish to
click on 'compatibility view' if you are using IE 8.0. You do this
by clicking on the icon that looks like a torn piece of paper with green
borders. It should be located at the top of the page, just to the
right of the window that contains this page's URL (i.e.
http://cbc-tunkhannock.org/help_page.html)
and just to the left of the 'refresh button' (i.e. the icon with the two
green arrows that indicate that something will spin.)
-
The
"instructions" will open in a new window, which you may have to
"maximize" for better viewing by:
-
When using Web Browsers
other than Internet Explorer
(i.e. Firefox, Mozilla,
Netscape, etc.):
-
These PowerPoint instruction slides
may not show clearly.
-
Also, the downloading
of MP3 files will not be quite the same procedure.
-
If your Internet
Explorer browser adds a
toolbar in your new browser window containing this verbiage:
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has
restricted this file from showing active content that could
access your computer...," you will have to "allow blocked
content" in order to view the instructions. To allow
blocked content:
-
'Right-click' anywhere on
that bar.
-
In the new pop-up box
that appears,
'left-click' on "Allow Blocked Content..."
-
If you get the box with
the Security Warning, click on the 'Yes' button.
-
The Slide
Show with the "instructions" will then
become visible.
HOW DO I:
-
Simply
play an .mp3 file right from the website:
-
'Left
click' on the words download MP3
for the sermon or lecture that you wish to hear.
-
Your
"default media player" (often Windows Media Player) should open
and immediately begin playing your request as it simultaneously downloads the
file.
-
Save
an .mp3 file to my computer, for listening later or for burning a CD
- using Internet Explorer:
-
'Right
click' on the words download MP3
for the sermon or lecture that you wish to hear.
-
'Left click'
on the words 'Save Target As...'
this process will save the file onto your computer in order to
listen to it later, or if you wish to burn your own CD for
playing in your car or on any other CD player.
-
In
order to make it easier to find the downloaded file, when
the new window opens after clicking Save Target As, 'left click' on the "TV screen" icon with the word "desktop" under
it. This will cause your newly downloaded file to be
sent to your desktop where you
can find it. (You may move it to wherever you wish
later - but at least for now you will know where it is.)
-
Note
the name of this file (highlighted in the bottom center of
this window. You may change the name of this file if
you wish - by just typing a new name into this highlighted
box - but do NOT change the "Save as type" box unless you
know what you are doing.
-
Then
'Left click' on the 'Save' button in the lower right-hand
corner of this same window (just to the right of the "file
name" box). A new "downloading" box will appear on
your screen with little green squares that indicate the
progress of your download. When the little squares
fill the slot, the download is complete and the box will
disappear.
-
When
this new box disappears (it will do so by itself), your
download is complete and you will find your new .mp3 file on
your desktop.
-
To
listen to the sermon / lecture, 'Right click' on this new
file and then in the new box that opens, 'Left click'
the word "open". Your default media player will
begin playing the file. The file itself will remain
and may be listened to at any time and / or may be moved to
a folder of your choice for future selection.
-
This
file may also be burned onto a CD for your car or any other
player. You may also pass any of these CDs onto others
for their use. The 'copyright' information is not
intended to impede any free personal use of these files.
